Two departments, the National Development Reform Commission and others, have issued guidance on promoting high-quality electricity grid development. It was suggested that, by 2030, the main dry and distribution grids would have been built into a new electrical grid platform that was essential and that was usefully complemented by an intelligent micro-grid, which would form an organic whole with clear interfaces, functionally sound, operational intelligence and interactive efficiency. The optimal distribution of grid resources has been effectively enhanced, with the size of the Western East Power Transmission (WAET) exceeding 420 million kilowatts, the additional provincial power-sharing capacity of around 40 million kilowatts, the support of new energy generation of about 30 per cent, the reception of new distributed energy capacity of 900 million kilowatts, the support of more than 40 million power-charged infrastructure, the full implementation of the basic role of the public electricity grid, the diversification of smart micro-grids, the maintenance of a stable power system and a stronger supply of electricity to the population.
