Ministry of Commerce: Significant Progress in the 2025 Consumer Goods Trade-In Program
Since 2025, the Ministry of Commerce, in collaboration with local governments and relevant departments, has thoroughly implemented the decisions and directives of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, steadily and systematically advancing the "trade-in" policy for consumer goods, and achieving significant results. In 2025, sales of goods covered by the trade-in program exceeded 2.6 trillion yuan, benefiting more than 360 million people. Specifically, over 11.5 million vehicles were traded in, more than 129 million home appliances were replaced, over 91 million new mobile phones and other digital products were purchased, more than 120 million home renovation and kitchen/bathroom products were upgraded, and over 12.5 million electric bicycles were traded in.
