Svmuu News: The market is awaiting the G7’s decision on the IEA’s proposal to release record levels of strategic reserves, with crude oil futures rising in the meantime. FxPro analyst Alex Kuptsikevich noted that releasing oil reserves does not necessarily lower oil prices. He pointed out that oil prices rose following the 2022 release because traders interpreted it as a “sign of market fragility.” On the other hand, he added that when the U.S. released reserves during the 1991 invasion of Iraq, oil prices did indeed fall. He said, “The oil market is focused on two main issues: how quickly the conflict in the Middle East will end and how it will end.” (Jin Shi)
