Kraken launches new security feature, allowing users to confirm the authenticity of customer service calls via in-app real-time banners and one-time verification codes.
Kraken stated that this move is aimed at helping users identify and prevent increasingly rampant phone scams. When a Kraken customer service representative calls a user back via a standard phone line, a verified banner will be displayed in real-time within the Kraken app. Additionally, users can request the customer service representative to read out a one-time verification code displayed in the app during the call for verification. If the authenticity of the call cannot be verified, the app will display a clear warning and add extra prompts for sensitive operations (such as withdrawals or changing account settings) during unverified calls. This feature has been launched in the Kraken, Kraken Pro, and Krak apps, and has improved detection capabilities on Android, including voice calls within apps like Telegram and Signal.
