a16z Research: AI Agent Computer Operation Accuracy Has Surpassed Humans, Hourly Cost Lower Than Offshore Outsourcing
According to the latest research by Fabrizio Serafini, an early AI investment partner at a16z, the completion rate of the current optimal AI Agent in standard computer operation benchmarks has reached 85% (as of June 2026), surpassing human testers' level of approximately 72%. At the same time, the full operating cost of an AI Agent is about $6 to $8 per hour, which is lower than the approximately $10 for Indian offshore BPO labor, and over 70% lower than the $30 to $45 for US domestic back-office employees. The research points out that this dual inflection point, both technological and economic, is reshaping the enterprise back-office process outsourcing (BPO) market, and the investment value洼地 has shifted from the model layer to the application and context layers.
