Analyst Lyle Daly remains bullish on Tesla despite Q2 EPS miss and 21% year-to-date stock decline
Analyst Lyle Daly maintains his long-term bullish stance on Tesla, stating he has no plans to sell his shares, despite the company's stock being down 21% this year as of August 27. While Tesla's Q2 2026 adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $0.33 fell short of expectations ($0.51), the company reported $28.2 billion in revenue, with automotive revenue at $20.5 billion and Supercharger network revenue up 50% year-over-year to $4.6 billion. Daly highlights Tesla's pivot into AI and robotics, including the Optimus humanoid robots and Robotaxi fleet, as potential high-margin growth catalysts. However, this expansion has led to increased capital expenditures, projected to exceed $25 billion for the full year, and a negative free cash flow of $1.1 billion in Q2 2026, with operating expenses rising 47% to $4.4 billion.
