Circle CPO: Cannot Promise Rollback of Arc Blockchain if Hundreds of Millions in USDC Are Stolen
Circle Chief Product and Technology Officer Nikhil Chandhok, in a September 16 interview with Bankless, stated he could not give a specific response when asked if Circle would roll back the Arc blockchain if a lending protocol like Aave were exploited by the Lazarus Group, resulting in the theft of tens or even hundreds of millions of USDC. Chandhok emphasized that Arc is immutable public financial infrastructure supported by over 20 validators. He noted that rolling back the blockchain would be an extremely significant decision, as compromising its immutability could fundamentally damage trust and be difficult to rebuild.
