Brigadier General Yadollah Javani, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ deputy for political affairs, stated that Iran’s armed forces are operating on the assumption that the US or Israel could strike at any moment. He told the semi-official Fars news agency that the military is “fully prepared for any scenario the enemy may devise,” and that Iran’s capabilities now allow it to confront the enemy not only defensively but also through pre-emptive and offensive operations. Javani warned that Iran can inflict heavy, devastating strikes on US warships, and any region enemy forces try to enter would become a “killing ground” for them.
