Mitsui Chemicals plans to acquire Japanese semiconductor materials manufacturer JSR from the Japan Investment Corporation (JIC), with the transaction value expected to exceed 1.3 trillion yen (over $8.2 billion). If successful, this will set a record for the largest M&A deal in the history of Japan's chemical industry.
