The General Administration of Customs has issued an announcement regarding the declaration of beef products subject to safeguard measures. The announcement stipulates that importers or their agents declaring beef subject to safeguard measures as specified in Article 2 of Ministry of Commerce Announcement No. 87 of 2025 must submit their declarations in accordance with customs declaration form requirements after the means of transport carrying the beef has been declared upon entry. Pursuant to Article 3 of Announcement No. 87 of 2025 of the Ministry of Commerce, “Methods for Implementing Safeguard Measures,” during the period of implementation of the safeguard measures, the special safeguard measures for beef stipulated in the Free Trade Agreement between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of Australia shall be suspended. The relevant provisions of General Administration of Customs Announcement No. 207 of 2019 regarding the special safeguard measures for beef under the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement shall be suspended simultaneously.
