State Street expects the application of artificial intelligence in the financial sector to "multiply" in the coming years, while emphasizing that "responsible deployment" is crucial to addressing potential security risks. The call was made on the first day of the Global Financial Leaders' Investment Summit in Hong Kong, where executives from leading institutions including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and JPMorgan Chase shared their insights on the era of AI in finance. Manoj Bohra, Chief Data and AI Officer at State Street, stated that the bank currently has over 350 AI use cases, up from about 150 last year, but noted that speed must not come at the "expense of responsibility and a governed ecosystem."
